  • Physica A publishes research in the field of statistical mechanics and its applications.
    • Statistical mechanics sets out to explain the behaviour of macroscopic systemsby studying the statistical properties of their microscopic constituents. Applications of the techniques of statistical mechanics are widespread, and include: applications to physical systems such as solids, liquids and gases; applications to chemical and biological systems (colloids, interfaces, complex fluids, polymers and biopolymers, cell physics); and other interdisciplinary applications to for instance biological, economical and sociological systems.
  • Physical Review Letters
    • The world’s premier physics letter journal. It publishes short, high quality reports of significant and notable results in the full arc of fundamental and interdisciplinary physics research. PRL provides readers with the most influential developments and transformative ideas in physics with the goal of moving physics forward. We are the most cited physics journal — every two minutes someone cites a PRL. Authors gain high visibility, rapid publication, and broad dissemination of their work.
    • Found this by looking at the work of Andrea Baronchelli, who’s published some ABS work there
  • Journal of the Royal Society Interface
    • J. R. Soc. Interface welcomes articles of high quality research at the interface of the physical and life sciences. It provides a high-quality forum to publish rapidly and interact across this boundary in two main ways: J. R. Soc. Interface publishes research applying chemistry, engineering, materials science, mathematics and physics to the biological and medical sciences; it also highlights discoveries in the life sciences of relevance to the physical sciences. Both sides of the interface are considered equally and it is one of the only journals to cover this exciting new territory. J. R. Soc. Interface welcomes contributions on a diverse range of topics, including but not limited to; biocomplexity, bioengineering, bioinformatics, biomaterials, biomechanics, bionanoscience, biophysics, chemical biology, computer science (as applied to the life sciences), medical physics, synthetic biology, systems biology, theoretical biology and tissue engineering.
  • Political Behavior
    • As an interdisciplinary journal, Political Behavior integrates a variety of analytical approaches across different levels of theoretical abstraction and empirical domain. The exploration includes economic perspectives in preference structuring and bargaining; psychological aspects of attitude, motivations and perceptions; sociological orientation of roles, group or class; or political stance in decision making, coalitions and influence.
    • Political Behavior prefers manuscripts that are approximately 25-35 pages. All text and appendix materials should be double spaced in a standard 12-point font. Accepted manuscripts will be need to be formatted to the publisher’s more detailed standards. Instructions for these standard will be made available when papers are accepted.
  • Behavioral Ecology
    • publishes original articles, reviews, and commentaries on all aspects of the field of behavioral ecology, encompassing both empirical and theoretical work and covering both animals (ranging from microbes to humans) and plants. Behavioral Ecology construes the field in its broadest sense to include (1) the use of ecological and evolutionary processes to explain the occurrence and adaptive significance of behavior patterns, (2) the use of behavioral processes to both predict ecological patterns and inform conservation and wildlife management strategies, and (3) comparative analyses relating behavior to the evolutionary context or environment in which it occurs. The journal accepts papers in areas such as habitat selection; foraging, anti-predator, mating, and parental care strategies; dispersal and migration; sexual selection; cooperation and conflict; communication; spacing and group behavior; social organization; and the appropriate use of statistics or novel methods of data collection and analysis. A broad range of approaches are sought, including theoretical modelling; experimental, field, and laboratory-based studies of individual species; and molecular and genomic approaches to understanding behavioral plasticity and evolution.
    • Publishes simulation studies
  • Theoretical Population Biology
    • An interdisciplinary journal, Theoretical Population Biology presents articles on theoretical aspects of the biology of populations, particularly in the areas of demography, ecology, epidemiology, evolution, and genetics. Emphasis is on the development of mathematical theory and models that enhance the understanding of biological phenomena. Articles highlight the motivation and significance of the work for advancing progress in biology, relying on a substantial mathematical effort to obtain biological insight. The journal also presents empirical results and computational and statistical methods directly impinging on theoretical problems in population biology.

  • This looks promising: Winter Simulation Conference 2018 December 9-12 Göteborg Sweden
    • Conference Theme: Simulation for a Noble Cause. Simulation has been found useful for a range of scientific, engineering and business applications as evident by the papers presented at Winter Simulation Conferences over the past 50 years. The 2018 conference seeks to highlight applications of simulation for noble causes in addition to continuing to report leading developments and applications in other fields. We especially invite papers describing uses of simulation in efforts analyzing and addressing issues facing humanity including, but not limited to, reducing poverty and world hunger, social causes, social problems, improving natural environment, and disaster response.
